One of the best ways to train your child for their future, spouse, employer, or community is to make it an expectation that everyone helps out. Having chores that are daily, or weekly, that children are expected to do without pay or rewards creates a sense of responsibility and purpose. This might be as simple as putting away their own clothes each morning, being in charge of making sure the entrance shoes are neatly arranged, or more difficult tasks like cleaning the family vehicle each weekend, helping with laundry, or housework.
What is important is that you start young. If your child is old enough to be in school they are old enough to help out at home.
